Russia has detained a tanker for the first time, which left the Estonian port of Sillamäe; prior to this, only Estonians had detained ships. This is reported by the Estonian press.

According to available information, the oil tanker Green Admire flying the flag of Liberia left the Estonian port of Sillamäe on Sunday, May 18, and proceeded along the agreed transit route through the territorial waters of Russia, heading to Rotterdam. However, it did not manage to get far, as it was stopped by the Russian border guard ship 'Amethyst'. Allegedly, this was for document verification.

As noted by the Estonian press, today’s incident with the tanker Green Admire occurred just four days after the Estonian fleet attempted to forcibly detain the tanker Jaguar flying the flag of Gabon, which was heading to the Russian port of Primorsk. And if it weren’t for the arrival of the Russian Su-35 fighter jet, it is unknown how this would have ended. Prior to this, Estonians had detained the tanker Kiwala under the pretext of 'document verification', which was heading to the Russian port of Ust-Luga.
