Since 2025, the Bitcoin ecosystem has seen several new protocols emerge, most of which have come to nothing. Currently, the Alkanes protocol seems to have gained a foothold, but overall it is still very early.
Several important assets of the Alkanes protocol include the tokens that everyone agrees on: the top token METHANE (methane), along with the strongly community-supported BUTANE (butane) and FARTANE (fart gas). Additionally, there is the official token DIESEL, with most of the chips held by the protocol party for future airdrops.
In terms of NFTs, the Idclub platform currently features three types of NFTs: Oyly, Alkane Pandas, and Alkanes Punk. It's still hard to say which is the top token. Oyly was initially issued through new issuance with a fair price, costing around 25U. Pandas were a free airdrop, and Punk also had a fair price, costing around 40U, which has now broken even.
When a protocol really takes off, it is likely to be related to the zoo concept, such as the Rats from the era of inscriptions, which created a significant wave of wealth effects. Currently, several zoo concepts have emerged in the Alkanes protocol, such as AlkaDoge and BITCAT, with both cats and dogs involved; today, the Bee is also actively participating. So, will it be dogs, cats, or bees that come out? No one knows.
The total number of Bees is 1 million, with 1,000,000 for each unit. The current progress is 27%, with 270,000 minted so far. If calculated with Gas at 2.5, using Idclub for new issuance, each unit costs 0.79U, so 25 units would be 19.75U, while the market price for 25 units is 13.5U. If using Idclub for new issuance, it is better to buy directly from the market.
The market price of 25 units at 13.5U is certainly from other tools used for new issuance, such as Ybot. A comparison shows that with the same Gas at 2.5, the cost for 25 units is 8.8U, presenting an arbitrage opportunity, of course, you need to have the Ybot OG card.
