Mastercard Unlocks Stablecoin Payments Worldwide

Global payments giant Mastercard is taking another major step into crypto. The company has partnered with OKX, Nuvei, and Circle to enable stablecoin payments — starting with USDC — at over 150 million merchants worldwide.

🔹 Consumers can now spend directly from their crypto wallets using Mastercard

🔹 Merchants will receive payments in stablecoins like USDC

🔹 MetaMask also launched a new “Metal Payment Card” for crypto payments without fiat conversion

This move deepens Mastercard’s integration with the crypto space, aligning with growing global clarity around stablecoin regulation and adoption.

“We must make it as easy as possible for merchants to accept and for consumers to use stablecoins,” said Mastercard’s Chief Product Officer Jorn Lambert.

Crypto is no longer on the sidelines — it’s becoming part of everyday finance.
