This is one of the biggest bankruptcy repayments in crypto history. 📆 It’s Been a Long Wait: After nearly 18 months of legal wrangling since FTX collapsed in late 2022, this is the first major payout phase for those who had funds stuck on the platform. 🪙 Fiat, Not Crypto: Most creditors will be repaid in cash (USD equivalents), not crypto. This is based on the value of their holdings at the time of FTX's bankruptcy (November 2022), not current prices — which has caused some frustration among those who held assets like SOL or BTC that have risen sharply since then. 📉 Some Big Losses Still: Even with this $5B+ payout, many creditors will still face losses — especially if they had large balances or assets that have appreciated a lot post-2022. ⚖️ Legal Wrap-Up Still Ongoing: The distribution is part of the broader bankruptcy case being overseen in Delaware.
