The nonprofit organization Infinite Nodes Foundation (NODE), dedicated to protecting and promoting digital art, has officially acquired the intellectual property (IP) of CryptoPunks from Yuga Labs, which had previously acquired the rights from Larva Labs in 2022.

This historic transfer places one of the internet's most culturally significant art collections into a mission-driven donation fund.

According to the announcement, NODE plans to maintain the project's technical integrity, promote community engagement, and expand the ways CryptoPunks are researched, exhibited, and understood.

Refik Anadol launches the sold-out generative art piece Biome Lumina.

The latest work 'Biome Lumina' by digital artist Refik Anadol has sold out, which is a collection of 1,000 generative 'living paintings', each priced at $5,000.

The series was released on his new art tech platform Dataland, powered by a large natural model (LNM) from the studio, which is an AI trained on over 2.4 million images and global rainforest data, with Anadol stating that all these data are ethically sourced.

Each collector's set includes three elements: a generated AI data painting, a corresponding museum-quality physical print, and a living painting on the My.Dataland platform.

Pudgy Penguins have released Pengu Clash, a new multiplayer web3 game built on TON, closely integrated with the Telegram messaging application.

The game features short, skill-based mini-games and adopts a 'Play2Win' model, meaning players can earn rewards through good competition without spending more money. The game is developed on a multiplayer platform called Elympics, which supports live matches and social tournaments.

Rohun Vara, known in the NFT space as Frank DeGods, announced he will step down as CEO of DeGods, having built and led the influential NFT projects DeGods and y00ts for three years. Leadership will be handed over to core team members Chill and Pasta.

In a series of candid posts, Vara acknowledged the intensity of the role, expressed gratitude for the relationships built, and stated that he would no longer provide funding to the public.

Vara's departure marks the end of a decisive chapter for the DeGods brand, one of the most famous NFT projects on the Solana blockchain.

Coinbase acquires Deribit.

Coinbase announced the acquisition of Deribit for $2.9 billion, a cryptocurrency options exchange based in Panama with a strong institutional user base. The deal includes $700 million in cash and 11 million shares of Coinbase Class A stock, reportedly making it the largest acquisition in cryptocurrency history.

Arbitrum Gaming Ventures invests $10 million to develop its web3 gaming ecosystem.

Arbitrum Gaming Ventures is a $65 million initiative supported by Ethereum's second-layer (L2) network Arbitrum, which has made its first $10 million investment into studios and platforms building web3 games.

The first participants include Wildcard (a 2v2 collectible card action game led by industry veterans Paul Bettner and Katy Drake Bettner), Hyve Labs (a social gaming platform for cross-channel gaming on apps like X and Telegram), and Xai (a three-layer L3 network aimed at bringing Steam-scale distribution to web3 gaming).

The fund will launch in 2024, collaborating with companies like Paradigm and BITKRAFT to support long-term player-centric growth in the Arbitrum ecosystem.
