TASS: Co-founder of the crypto-game Blum arrested in fraud case
Vladimir Smerkis is the former head of Binance in the CIS
The Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow initiated the arrest of the former head of Binance in the CIS and co-founder of the crypto-game Blum, Vladimir Smerkis, as part of a criminal case on large-scale fraud, TASS was informed by law enforcement agencies.
"The Zamoskvoretsky District Court granted the investigator's petition for the choice of a preventive measure in the form of detention for Vladimir Smerkis, who was detained in a large-scale fraud case (Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)," the agency's interlocutor said.
At the same time, the Zamoskvoretsky Court's website states that materials regarding Smerkis's arrest have indeed been received by the instance for consideration, but it does not specify what decision was made.
