Former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink stated that she resigned due to changes in Trump’s policy towards Kyiv and Moscow.

Brink wrote about this in a column for the Detroit Free Press. She noted that over the past three years, she has witnessed numerous examples of cruelty and pain inflicted on Ukrainian families by Russia, which she called "pure evil".

However, according to her, from the very beginning, the policy of the Trump administration was to pressure the victim, Ukraine, rather than the aggressor — Russia:

💬 "Thus, I can no longer conscientiously conduct the administration's policy and consider it my duty to resign. After nearly three decades of serving our country, I have resigned from my position as ambassador to Ukraine.

I cannot stand aside while a country is invaded, democracy is bombarded, and children are killed with impunity. I believe that the only way to ensure U.S. interests is to defend democracies and stand against autocrats".

Brink added that Putin will not stop at Ukraine if he is allowed to redraw borders by force. This will undermine the balance of security worldwide and have profound consequences for the safety and prosperity of America.
