Hard facts! Some brothers asked me to recommend a few books on economics and finance suitable for beginners.
As everyone knows, I studied finance and have worked in internet finance for over 10 years, so I should be quite suitable to answer this question.
Microeconomics:
Mankiw "Microeconomics",
Pindyck "Microeconomics",
Varian "Microeconomics: Modern Perspectives",
Gao Hongye "Western Economics: Micro Part",
I have read the above 4 books several times.
Let me add a few words: When I was studying, I read all the economics books I could find in the library because the theories have remained unchanged for hundreds of years. However, each scholar's perspective may differ, and there are some novel conclusions, which are very interesting.
Macroeconomics:
Mankiw "Macroeconomics",
Krugman "Macroeconomics",
Dornbusch "Macroeconomics",
Gao Hongye "Western Economics: Macro Part",
Barro "Macroeconomics: Modern Perspectives",
and all other mainstream economists' textbooks that you can find.
Macroeconomics + Microeconomics is the foundation of studying economics. In fact, after reading these two categories of books, you should be able to understand economic phenomena basically. Then, you can supplement with vertical knowledge and theories.
For example, we can then look at finance-related books to understand how central banks, commercial banks, insurance companies, securities companies, and fund companies operate:
Monetary Banking / Finance /
Central Banking: Yi Gang "Monetary Banking", Huang Da "Finance", and other domestic versions can also be considered.
Commercial Banking Management: Dai Xianglong "Commercial Bank Management", along with other domestic versions. At the same time, I recommend looking at the financial reports of China Merchants Bank and China Construction Bank.
Insurance: I read Wei Hualin's "Insurance" back then, and other versions are also acceptable. I also suggest looking at the financial reports of Ping An Insurance and China Life Insurance.
Investment: Zvi Bodie's "Investment", Sharpe's "Investment", Zhang Zongxin's "Investment" and the "Securities Qualification Examination Series", "Fund Qualification Examination Series"
Basically, these are the fundamental books I recommend.
