The negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, which took place on Friday in Istanbul, went better than the Turkish side expected.
A Turkish official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told CNN, as reported by "European Truth."
According to a CNN source, the negotiations in Istanbul were "more positive than expected," and the parties "did not accuse each other."
The Turkish source confirmed that Russia demanded the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from territories still under its control, "in the context of discussing the ceasefire issue."
