Today, Coinbase has reported a massive data breach where more than 100'000 users have been affected! Hackers got their personal information like their names, contact details and account balances! But how it could happen? Basically hackers paid off Coinbase’s external support staff in order to steal customer data. What now? Currently the hackers are demanding Coinbase $20 million dollar in exchange of the data stolen. However Coinbase didn't agree! So overall, what are the consequences?

The company is now cooperating with law enforcement and off course fired the involved employees. This incident could cost Coinbase up to $400 million in order to resolve.
