#PiNetwork Launches $100M Venture Fund To Boost Ecosystem Growth
Pi Network has established a $100 million fund aimed at investing in startups that build on its #blockchain infrastructure.
The newly formed Pi Network Ventures will allocate $100 million in PI$PI and U.S. dollars to drive adoption and utility across the ecosystem.
Funding will come from the 10% of PI$PI previously reserved for #ecosystem initiatives by the "ownerless" Pi Foundation.
The venture fund will invest in companies from early stages through Series B and beyond, targeting both #crypto-native and broader technology sectors.
Investment areas include generative AI, fintech, embedded payments, e-commerce platforms, marketplaces, and social networks.
Pi Network Ventures aims to operate like traditional Silicon Valley VC firms in its sourcing and vetting processes.
The launch comes amid ongoing criticism over Pi Network's transparency and referral model, with the PI$PI currently trading 25% below its all-time high.
