According to Foresight News, the Ethereum Foundation announced the launch of the "Trillion Dollar Security Initiative" aimed at enhancing the security of the Ethereum protocol through funding for research, development, and auditing. The project will initially be led by both Frederick Svants, the head of protocol security, and Josh Stark from the EF management team.

The initiative will support security enhancements for major clients, formal verification, security vulnerability testing, bug bounty programs, and security education for the community. The foundation emphasized the importance of ensuring the robustness of the protocol and its resistance to attacks as the E ecosystem continues to expand.
