USDC in Brazil: PIX Integration and Local Partnerships

Since September 2024, USDC has been accessible in Brazil via PIX, the Central Bank's instant payment system, through integrations. This move enables businesses and consumers to exchange reais (BRL) for USDC$BTC

directly with local banks, bypassing international transfers and their associated costs and settlement times.

Circle has partnered with Brazilian financial institutions, including BTG Pactual, the largest investment bank in Latin America, and Nubank, one of the top neobanks in the country. These partnerships seek to enable access to USDC for institutional and retail customers, driving the use of digital dollars in the Brazilian market.
