PANews on May 16 reported that U.S. President Trump stated during a meeting with business executives in the UAE on Friday that the United States may unilaterally set new tariff rates on many trade partners, rather than reaching agreements with all of them. Washington is set to impose new tariffs 'within the next two to three weeks.' Trump added that Treasury Secretary Mnuchin and Commerce Secretary Ross will 'issue letters essentially telling people how much they need to pay to do business in the U.S.' Trump stated that while '150 countries' want to reach agreements, it is 'impossible to meet with all countries.'
