On May 14, 2025, the Ethereum Foundation launched the "Trillion Dollar Security" initiative to enhance network security in preparation for widespread global adoption. The initiative aims to empower users to securely store $1,000 on the network and allow institutions to manage over a trillion dollars through smart contracts and decentralized applications.

The initiative follows three phases:

1. Risk Assessment: A comprehensive evaluation of Ethereum's components, including user experience, wallet security, smart contracts, infrastructure, and consensus protocols.

2. Implementation of Improvements: Developing solutions for identified issues, such as auditing tools and protocol updates.

3. Communication and Awareness: Disseminating knowledge and fostering a culture of security among developers and users.

The initiative is led by Frederik Svantes and Josh Stark, supported by prominent security experts like Samkzsen, Mahdi Zrawali, and Zack O'Brout.

These efforts aim to establish Ethereum as a reliable and secure global financial infrastructure.
