A spokesperson for the Thai Disease Control Department stated that from January 1 to May 14, Thailand recorded more than 71,000 cases and 19 deaths due to Covid-19. Among these, the capital Bangkok had the highest number with over 16,700 positive cases, peaking from April 27 to May 3 with more than 14,000 cases; however, the number of infections has decreased to around 12,500 from May 4 to May 10. Provinces such as Chon Buri, Nonthaburi, and Rayong also have high infection rates. In Singapore, the Ministry of Health and the Singapore Infectious Disease Agency reported that the number of infections increased by more than 3,000 in one week, reaching 14,200 cases in the week from April 27 to May 3. The average daily hospitalization rate rose from 102 to 133, according to The Strait Times.
