Meet Laszlo Hanyecz — the man who famously traded 10,000 bitcoins for two pizzas.

Back in 2010, Laszlo posted on a forum: "I'll pay 10,000 BTC for two pizzas." At the time, those bitcoins were worth about $25 — just spare change. Eventually, another forum user accepted the offer, ordered two Papa John’s pizzas, and had them delivered to Laszlo’s home in Florida.

Laszlo transferred the 10,000 BTC using a basic command-line wallet, and just like that — he had his lunch.

Fast forward a few years, and those same 10,000 bitcoins would be worth tens of millions — even hundreds of millions today. May 22 is now known as Bitcoin Pizza Day, a lighthearted tribute to what’s considered the first real-world crypto transaction.

With Bitcoin currently trading around $100,000, you have to wonder:

Can Laszlo ever truly forgive himself?

Most people can’t even begin to imagine what he must feel.
