#EthereumSecurityInitiative

On May 14, 2025, the Ethereum Foundation unveiled the Trillion Dollar Security (1TS) Initiative, a bold strategy to fortify the Ethereum network’s security for global adoption. Aimed at securing trillions in on-chain value, the initiative targets vulnerabilities across smart contracts, wallet UX, and consensus protocols. Led by Fredrik Svantes and Josh Stark, with support from experts like samczsun and Sigma Prime, 1TS is structured in three phases: mapping risks, implementing fixes, and enhancing communication to build trust.

Following the recent Pectra upgrade, which improved staking and wallet usability, 1TS seeks to make Ethereum a trusted infrastructure for billions of users and institutions. The initiative encourages community participation to identify weaknesses, positioning Ethereum to lead in secure, civilization-scale finance. With institutional interest rising—evidenced by VanEck’s tokenized funds on Ethereum—this move underscores the network’s ambition to surpass legacy systems.
