**The Legend of the $100,000 Bitcoin Pizzas 🍕**
On May 22, 2010, a man named **Laszlo Hanyecz** made history—in a way he probably never expected.
He posted on a Bitcoin forum:
*"I’ll pay **10,000 BTC** for two pizzas."*
At the time, that was just **$25**—a fair deal for a couple of Papa John’s pies. A fellow crypto enthusiast took him up on the offer, ordered the pizzas, and had them delivered to Laszlo’s home in Florida. In exchange, Laszlo sent over **10,000 BTC** via a command-line wallet, completing what’s now known as the **first real-world Bitcoin transaction.**
Fast forward to today…
Those **10,000 BTC** would be worth **hundreds of millions of dollars** at current prices.
Every year, **May 22** is celebrated as **"Bitcoin Pizza Day"**—a hilarious (and slightly painful) reminder of how far crypto has come.
Could Laszlo have imagined what Bitcoin would become? Probably not.
Does he regret it? Maybe.
But without moments like this, Bitcoin’s journey wouldn’t be nearly as legendary.
**Lesson learned?** HODL… or at least think twice before spending your crypto on lunch! 😂
*(P.S. If you owned 10,000 BTC today, what would YOU buy? Let me know in the comments!)* 🚀 #BitcoinPizzaDay
