On May 22, 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz, the programmer who would become famous for being the man who bought pizza with bitcoin, posted a message on a Bitcoin forum called Bitcointalk. He was looking to make a deal with someone who would accept bitcoin as payment for pizza. Hanyecz wrote:
I will pay 10,000 bitcoins for a couple of pizzas... Maybe two large ones so I have leftovers for the next day.
At that time, 10,000 BTC was worth approximately 41 USD, which means each bitcoin was about 0.0041 USD. Hanyecz's offer was accepted by another user on Bitcointalk, who paid 25 USD for the two pizzas.
Can you imagine paying for a pizza with pepecoins? 🤣🤣 and the next day it shot up to 1$ 🤣🤣🤣🤣
