#CryptoRegulation The U.S. Senate could pass a stablecoin bill next week
The U.S. Senate could pass a key bipartisan stablecoin bill as soon as next week after removing language aimed at President Donald Trump and the extensive crypto interests of his family.
Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis said she believes it is a "fair target" to have the U.S. National Stablecoin Innovation and Guidance Act, or GENIUS Act, passed by May 26.
Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand hinted that the language of the bill was changed to eliminate provisions targeting Trump's various cryptocurrency ventures, which include memecoins, a cryptocurrency platform, a stablecoin, and a cryptocurrency mining company planning to go public, among others.
