Before the Russia-Ukraine talks, U.S. President Trump, during his visit to the UAE, suddenly stated that nothing would happen in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine until he met with Russian President.
However, Trump did not completely rule it out, stating that he would go to Turkey before May 16 if appropriate.
Currently, representatives from Russia, the U.S., and Ukraine have arrived in Turkey, and Ukrainian President Zelensky has also personally gone there, with negotiations about to begin.
Of course, the first negotiations between the three parties are unlikely to produce any significant agreements, but they may make procedural arrangements for subsequent negotiation plans, and as the negotiations deepen, a temporary ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine may also be achieved.
In short, negotiations are about to begin, and everything is moving in a positive direction.
Trump's statement that nothing would happen may just be a negotiation strategy after all.
