#BinancePizza
Celebrating Bitcoin Pizza Day, which is observed on May 22. This day is dedicated to a historical event in 2010 when programmer Laszlo Hanyecz bought two pizzas for 10,000 BTC, marking the first recorded purchase of a real-world item using bitcoins.
As part of #BinancePizza , Binance conducts global events, including free pizza giveaways, contests, and meetups with the crypto community in various countries. For example, in 2023, Binance organized events in 25 countries, where over 5,000 pizzas were consumed and around 5,300 participants were engaged. In some cities, such as Lahore (Pakistan) and Naples (Italy), Binance held 'takeovers' of pizzerias, distributing pizza and promoting cryptocurrencies. Online promotions were also held where participants could win prizes by sharing photos of Binance-themed pizzas.
The initiative is aimed at popularizing cryptocurrencies, drawing attention to their history, and strengthening the Binance community.
