🇺🇸 USA: New Approach to Cryptocurrency Regulation
In May 2025, the Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Paul Atkins announced plans to establish clear rules for cryptocurrencies classified as securities. The SEC is also considering allowing registered broker-dealers with alternative trading systems (ATS) to trade cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Additionally, President Donald Trump signed Executive Order No. 14178, which lifts previous restrictions on the creation of Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) and establishes a working group to develop a federal regulatory framework for digital assets.
🇺🇦 Ukraine: Plans for a National Bitcoin Reserve
Ukraine is working on a draft law that will allow the country to officially hold Bitcoin as part of its national reserves. Member of Parliament Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported that the draft law is nearly ready. This initiative could make Ukraine one of the first European countries to consider Bitcoin as a key financial asset.
