A new report from CoinCorner shows: 51% of Bitcoin users in the UK have never sold – they are accumulating, not day trading. Based on data from 2,000 users in 2024, Bitcoin investment behavior in the UK is showing strategic, long-term trends and less risk than the speculative image previously common.
Highlights from the report:
86% of transactions are purchases, only 14% are sales.
88% of users buy more than once, and 51% have been accumulating Bitcoin for over 3 years.
The average value of each purchase is only £412, but when selling, it averages up to £5,513 – more than 10 times. This shows that most users only sell when prices rise sharply, rather than reacting to short-term emotions.
Accumulation behavior and age contradict stereotypes
Instead of young, risk-taking investors, 56% of users are aged between 35 and 54 – an age group that typically has stable finances and a longer-term investment mindset. The report states: “CoinCorner is attracting a group of mature users with solid financial backgrounds.”
Users in #London lead in both quantity and trading volume – likely due to higher incomes.
Men account for 86%, among which those in the IT sector hold the most Bitcoin.
Notably, retirees have the highest trading volume – reflecting strong confidence in digital assets even among the older demographic.
Impressive financial results
As of the end of 2024:
97% of users who only buy and sell on CoinCorner are making a profit.
Even among those holding under £1,000 (accounting for 56%), confidence in Bitcoin remains very strong.
The report concludes that: “Bitcoin is increasingly being seen as digital gold, not a get-rich-quick tool.” Users in the UK are accumulating steadily and behaving strategically, highlighting Bitcoin's new role in the modern financial system.
