According to PANews, one of the founders of Polygon, Sandeep Nailwal, recently revealed that scammers are using AI technology to create fake video representations of himself to deceive startups in the crypto industry. The scammers initially hacked the Telegram account of Polygon Ventures head Shreyansh Singh and then contacted startups in the ecosystem while posing as investment discussions, trapping victims into Zoom meetings. During these meetings, the scammers used AI-generated images of Nailwal, Singh, and fictitious team members without audio interaction, deceiving participants into installing malicious software development kits.

Nailwal noted that several entrepreneurs have approached him to verify the authenticity of these meetings. He advised community members not to install unknown software during unsolicited interactions and emphasized the importance of operational protocols. He urged crypto users to separate wallet signing activities from everyday device usage, stating, "This attack method is becoming increasingly sophisticated, so the best practice is to use a dedicated laptop solely for wallet signing operations and not to use it for anything unrelated to the wallet."
