Trump can fly to Turkey 'to save lives'
While flying from Saudi Arabia to Qatar, US President Donald Trump told reporters that he is still thinking about going to peace talks in Turkey on Thursday. He is still not sure if Russian President Vladimir Putin will be there.
"Things are very tense," Trump said. "But I can still go if that means saving lives, and then continue with my trip."
He confirmed that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will attend the negotiations in Istanbul.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he will only go if Putin shows up. On Wednesday, Russia said it is sending a team to the meeting but did not say who it will be.
