Golden Finance reported that major Democratic members of the U.S. House of Representatives sent a letter to the Treasury Department on Wednesday, requesting its anti-money laundering regulator to provide all suspicious activity reports (SARs) related to Trump's cryptocurrency projects. They accused Trump and his team of possibly abusing their power to benefit cryptocurrency businesses, particularly regarding Trump's blockchain project World Liberty Financial and the $TRUMP Memecoin. The letter mentioned that Democratic members are calling for an urgent investigation into Trump and his family's World Liberty Financial and its related activities launched in September 2024, to assess whether there are violations of campaign finance, bribery, and securities laws. This move marks an escalation of Congress's scrutiny of Trump's cryptocurrency businesses, as Senate Democrats also did not advance stablecoin legislation last week due to Trump's cryptocurrency projects.
