Responding to a MacRumors headline, he wrote, “This idea I’ve changed timelines is nonsense, but otherwise it adds some nice tension and inspiration for comments. It’s always been 2026.” In another post, he mentioned that he should have been clearer about when the device might appear.
The Information cited unnamed sources who expect that the release would happen in 2026, while supply‑chain analyst Ming‑Chi Kuo gave the same date and projected a second‑generation model in 2027. None of these schedules is locked in; Apple frequently adjusts projects as parts, prices, and internal targets change. Apple is known for taking its time with new product categories.
