When the high-profile lawsuit between Ripple and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) erupted, many believed it was the end for XRP. From a dazzling peak, this coin free-fell to 0.1 USD, leading to a wave of pessimism engulfing the entire market. But as a testament to rare resilience, XRP not only survived but is also coming back stronger than ever.

Last week, XRP recorded a 22% increase, entering the top 3 best-performing digital assets, despite the overall market hesitating. So what is behind this spectacular breakout?

On-chain picture: XRP wallets reach all-time high

One of the most notable signs lies in the blockchain data. The total number of XRP wallets other than 0 has approached 6.5 million wallets – the highest number in the 12-year history of the network.

In just the first few months of 2025, XRP has attracted over 638,000 new wallets, an increase of more than 11%, clearly demonstrating the return of both retail and institutional investors. This not only reflects confidence in XRP but also affirms that the network is reviving both in terms of utility and liquidity.

In particular, in a recent report, WisdomTree – an asset management company valued at 100 billion USD – called XRP the only altcoin worthy of Bitcoin in a strategic investment portfolio, further boosting confidence among long-term investors.

Both derivatives and spot trading have surged

On Binance, data shows that XRP's open interest (OI) has strongly recovered, from a low of 530 million USD to nearly 1 billion USD – a clear sign that speculative capital is returning.

On-chain analyst FundingVest from CryptoQuant notes that short sellers are becoming increasingly aggressive, but buyers still control the market – a scenario often seen before a strong price breakout.

Additionally, the funding rate has returned to neutral levels, while XRP's price remains stable, indicating that market sentiment is positive but not excessively exuberant – an ideal condition for sustainable growth.

The market maintains confidence

According to data from Coinglass, XRP has seen a total of 6.86 million USD recently liquidated – including both short and long positions. However, the notable point is that the price has remained stable – a signal indicating that buyers are effectively absorbing selling pressure.

Also in the past week, more than 48.93 million USD of XRP was withdrawn from exchanges and moved to private wallets, indicating that investors are accumulating rather than selling, especially those with a long-term view.

Could XRP reach the 6 USD mark?

Technical analysis from renowned analyst MackAttackXRP shows that XRP is forming a bullish flag pattern on the weekly chart – a pattern that often appears before strong price increases.

If successfully broken, XRP could aim for the price range of 3.4 – 3.6 USD in the short term. Further out, optimistic valuation models even set targets in the range of 5 – 6 USD, especially if technical indicators and capital flows continue to support the momentum.

Currently, XRP is trading around 2.57 USD, up 2.7% in 24 hours and maintaining a weekly performance of over 22%. If there are no strong resistances ahead, the 3 USD mark could very well be reached within this week.

Current technical analysis shows that there are no major resistance levels ahead – a factor that could facilitate XRP’s free price increase.

In the adjustment scenario, the support level around 2.38 USD is playing the role of a reliable 'buffer zone' – where demand may return and reinforce the upward trend in the medium term.

The strong resurgence of XRP is a clear testament to an immutable principle in the crypto market: True value always finds its way back. With the legal landscape gradually clarifying, capital flowing back strongly, and technical signals supporting the upward trend – XRP has all the factors converging to reach the price range of 5 to 6 USD in the coming months. However, like all digital assets, investors need to carefully consider and closely monitor macroeconomic fluctuations as well as the internal market. Patience and a sound strategy can yield worthwhile results in the breakout phase of XRP.
