Golden Finance reports that European Commission spokesman Thomas Reiner has stated that the Trump administration has decided to cancel the so-called artificial intelligence diffusion rules, which set limits on how many advanced AI chips certain countries can purchase. This is a welcomed development. Reiner said, 'We are pleased that the U.S. government recognizes that the artificial intelligence diffusion rules would harm diplomatic relations between the U.S. and dozens of countries.' The U.S. Department of Commerce is abolishing this regulation on the grounds that it would stifle innovation, burden companies with heavy regulatory requirements, and damage diplomatic relations. Reiner stated that lifting the restrictions on the EU's purchase of advanced AI chips from the U.S. aligns with America's economic and security interests.
