• Brave users can now manage Cardano tokens and access DApps directly within the browser.

  • The integration enables Cardano governance and intelligent contract interaction with Midnight.

  • Brave adds Cardano to its Web3 wallet, expanding support beyond Ethereum and Solana.

Brave, a Web 3 browser centred on privacy and decentralised access, has introduced support for the Cardano blockchain on its native and standalone wallet. The update, which was officially announced on May 12, 2025, is the fruit of collaboration between Brave and Input-Output (the blockchain engineering firm behind Cardano).

This integration enables users to govern Cardano-based tokens, use decentralized applications (DApps), and perform governance functions all directly on Brave Wallet. With this feature, Brave moves away from Ethereum and Solana to position itself as a multi-chain Web3 interaction platform.

Users Gain Direct Access to Cardano Blockchain via Brave Wallet

Brave Browser users can now connect to the Cardano blockchain without having to use additional third-party extensions or external tools. The browser integration supports native token transactions, wallet management, and the use of decentralized applications in the browser and wallet environment. This feature enhances accessibility among users with different levels of experience.

Brendan Eich, Brave’s co-founder and CEO, said that one of Brave’s purposes is to increase user freedom and security in decentralized systems. The addition of the Cardano support is another step for Brave in further building out its decentralized infrastructure and enhancing the toolset for its user base.

The collaboration also supports Midnight, a privacy-conscious Cardano sidechain. Midnight, as a project, is concerned with safe smart contract deployment and data confidentiality. The integration supports Brave’s overall strategy to create a browser ecosystem where safe, decentralized interactions can take place.

Expanded Web3 Ecosystem and Future Collaborations

Input Output and Brave stressed that this development is the first step in the long-term partnership. Subsequent moves might explore state-of-the-art governance engagement tools and privacy features via the Midnight. This extension denotes Brave’s ongoing support for new Web3 infrastructure and the user’s needs.

Robert Roose, the founder of Mynth, Cardano interoperability protocol, stated that the implementation of Brave’s Cardano support is increasing adoption and providing access to decentralized apps. Roose noted most of the technical nuts and bolts have already been laid, enabling users to interact with DApps using Brave without stumbling blocks.

Midnight is an important step in developing Cardano's use cases. The technology framework of Midnight will support free crypto transactions associated with NFT-based access systems (Input Output). These NFTs will afford their users a daily transaction limit similar to that of free services common in Web2 applications.

Brave’s decision comes after Input Output released a toolkit this year for developers to create custom Cardano sidechains. These tools allow projects to customize blockchain features to meet their desired needs, with a view to scaling and interoperating. The Brave–Input Output partnership shows a contract to increase decentralized capabilities. As the two companies further develop, users will experience a broader range of privacy tools and governance features in Brave’s Web3 environment.
