Ethereum recently implemented the Pectra upgrade, its most significant overhaul since the 2022 Merge. This update introduces 11 improvement proposals aimed at enhancing transaction speed, reducing costs, and improving wallet usability. Notably, it raises the staking cap from 32 ETH to 2,048 ETH per validator, allowing for more flexible staking options . 

Following the Pectra upgrade, Ether (ETH) experienced a substantial rally, outperforming Bitcoin for the first time in months. In May, ETH surged by 45%, compared to Bitcoin’s 10.7% gain, driven by improved scalability and investor confidence . As of May 14, 2025, ETH is trading at approximately $2,667.04, reflecting a positive market response to the upgrade.
