Robinhood Markets, Inc. shook the Canadian cryptocurrency sector on May 13 by signing an agreement to acquire WonderFi, one of Canada's leading regulated digital asset platforms for 250 million Canadian dollars (178.56 million US dollars).

With assets worth over 2.1 billion Canadian dollars and a strong portfolio that includes Bitbuy and Coinsquare, WonderFi has established itself as a key player in the Canadian cryptocurrency sector.

After the acquisition, WonderFi will continue to serve its existing products, and its management and employees will be integrated into Robinhood Crypto. This transaction marks a milestone in Robinhood's ongoing efforts to build a global financial ecosystem where Canada will be a strategic hub.
