asked some friends what they thought about marketing in crypto
got a few responses, but the most interesting one:
"i don’t think there are 10 people in crypto that know the first principles of marketing aside from dropping a token and hyping up that event"
to be honest, i kind of agree
marketing has become pretty twisted and manipulative in the space
- 99% teaser content, 1% substance
- optimized for speculation, not loyalty
- vague promises to dangle carrots in front of users
- no sense of narrative, mission, or actual brand building
until we decouple “marketing” from pure token mechanics, it’s hard to build anything people actually care about
