For some reason, cryptocurrency traders look to Arthur Hayes for market predictions. Hayes emerged as the CEO of BitMEX, which was previously the largest cryptocurrency derivatives exchange in the world, where its market maker traded against its clients.
Hayes's notoriety continued after he was indicted and placed under house arrest; he is now the Chief Investment Officer at Maelstrom.
Although providing a comprehensive account of every prediction Hayes has ever made is beyond the scope of this article, Protus analyzed 20 of his latest predictions and listed the results below.
Bitcoin below $50,000
On September 6, 2024, Hayes predicted, "Bitcoin's price is high, and I target a price below $50,000 by the end of this weekend. I have taken a bold short position."
Unfortunately, Bitcoin's price did not drop below $50,000. Later that day, its price briefly fell to $52,546, but it has not traded at a lower price since then.
