The Ethereum developer questions the increase in the gas limit amid concerns about costs

According to Foresight News, Ethereum's lead developer, Tim Beiko, has raised a question about the possible tenfold increase in the gas limit. Beiko suggested that to achieve this increase, the gas costs for the CREATE, CREATE2, and SSTORE operations would also need to be increased tenfold. He questioned whether this would constitute a net improvement and sought opinions on whether state growth, as the main bottleneck for expanding Layer 1 gas, should be addressed through pricing.

Beiko initiated a poll on the X platform, offering options such as 'gas limit and opcode cost' and 'do not increase storage costs.' The discussion highlights the ongoing considerations within the Ethereum community regarding the balance between network scalability and cost efficiency.
