【NVIDIA Joins Forces with Saudi Humain to Build AI Super Factory, Middle East Computing Power Competition Upgraded】
As the global artificial intelligence competition intensifies, NVIDIA and Saudi Arabia's Humain company announced on May 13 a strategic cooperation plan to establish a leading AI factory in the Middle East. Following this news, NVIDIA's stock price surged 5% on the same day, pushing its market value to over $2.3 trillion and further consolidating its position as the global AI chip leader.
This collaboration focuses on three core areas: first, deploying NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD supercomputing clusters to build a computing power infrastructure capable of hundreds of exaflops of floating-point operations per second; second, developing large language models adapted to Arabic to fill the gap in localized AI ecosystems in the Middle East; and third, creating an AI talent incubation center, expected to train over 10,000 professional engineers in Saudi Arabia over the next five years.
This marks a key step in Saudi Arabia's “Vision 2030” digital transformation. As an important lever for transforming its oil-based economy, the Saudi sovereign fund has invested over $40 billion in the AI sector in recent years. This cooperation will not only accelerate the expansion of the Middle Eastern cloud computing market (expected to reach $18 billion by 2027) but may also reshape the global AI supply chain landscape — leveraging Saudi Arabia's low energy costs and geographical advantages, this factory could become a hub for AI computing power across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Market analysts point out that NVIDIA's move not only avoids risks associated with U.S. chip export restrictions to China but also positions itself in the emerging Middle Eastern market, while Saudi Arabia aims to narrow the gap with regional competitors like UAE's G42 through technology introduction. As both parties deepen their ties, the global AI industry may enter a new phase of “geopolitical computing power” competition.
