The Director of U.S. Intelligence earns 177,000 euros annually and was unable to prevent a hacker from stealing her passwords. Years ago, Japan launched a cybersecurity agency to protect the country from malicious actions by hackers. Surprisingly, their efforts were well below expectations, as nine months later they discovered they had been hacked. This discovery was made thanks to the United States, as the North American country was the one to notify the Asians. Now, thanks to the ironies of life, it has been the U.S. itself that has been affected by this attack. As TechSpot points out, the controversy has erupted following the leak of Tulsi Gabbard's passwords, the current National Intelligence Director of the United States. After the appearance of a list of leaked passwords originating from security breaches that occurred between 2012 and 2019, it has been revealed that Gabbard opted for the same password across services like Gmail, Dropbox, and LinkedIn. This situation is nothing out of the ordinary, especially considering that the passwords were changed after the leak, but it is indeed shocking to know that this password did not meet any minimum security standards.
