Bitcoin investors are turning the BTC supply more illiquid than at any point in its history Data from onchain analytics platform Glassnode shows that Bitcoin’s “illiquid supply” has reached a record 14 million BTC. Bitcoin illiquid supply returns to all-time highs Bitcoin is increasingly finding its way into the hands of entities that do not sell what they acquire. Glassnode, which charts the portion of the BTC supply owned by so-called “illiquid entities,” reveals that this has reached levels not seen during the current bull market. An entity is considered illiquid if the ratio between its cumulative BTC inflows and outflows is below a certain value. “This ratio yields a number L between zero and one, with larger values indicating higher liquidity,” it explained in a dedicated guide. “Liquidity is therefore the extent to which an entity spends the assets it receives. Illiquid entities are those that hoard coins in anticipation of a long-term BTC price appreciation.” $BTC

SEC Hosts Tokenization Roundtable The Securities and Exchange Commission, meanwhile, will host the fourth of its five ‘Spring Sprint Toward Crypto Clarity’ industry roundtables this afternoon, focusing on tokenization. The event will feature a keynote address from SEC Chairman Paul Atkins, along with remarks from Commissioners Mark Uyeda, Hester Peirce, and Caroline Crenshaw, as well as Richard Gabbert, Chief of Staff for the SEC’s Crypto Task Force. After a thaw in U.S.-China trade relations, the market’s focus is turning to price pressures. Economists expect the consumer-price index, due at 8:30 a.m. ET, to show annual inflation held steady at 2.4% in the 12 months through April. But the outlook is clouded by substantial uncertainty over where tariffs will settle. For investors, recent pacts with the U.K. and China offer welcome signs the White House is retreating from its harshest tariff threats. Still, markets remain on edge about U.S. trade policy. Import duties are expected to remain considerably higher than before President Trump’s return to office, and the back-and-forth over tariffs has already upended supply chains and businesses’ investment plans.
