BINANCE Alpha today requires 205 points. Has it turned into a pay-to-win game?
I used to think that Alpha Points would have a limit, but it turns out the only limit is me 🥲, I really can't keep up anymore!
From initially being able to get an airdrop with under 100 points, to now needing over 200 points, it shows that Binance Alpha has begun to shift from being "open to everyone" to "highly active, high-paying participants only."
With the early bonus period over, the focus has shifted to rewarding heavy participants, forcing users to continuously trade, hold Alpha coins, and participate in tasks to maintain competitiveness. It has essentially become a kind of Web3 VIP tier system.
For retail investors, spending time daily to participate in activities and complete tasks may not yield returns, and the feeling of being harvested is becoming increasingly strong.
The Binance Alpha game is gradually leaning towards the following direction:
❎ High holdings (user balance) × high trading volume × high operating frequency = points accelerator.
❎ Retail investors relying solely on daily trading + small interactions, even with double trading volume rewards, will not win against the monthly volume of large investors after several months.
❎ On the surface, it appears to be fair scoring, but in reality, it is a competition built on capital.
The pay-to-win model erodes the original intention of Web3.
One of the core principles of Web3 is: decentralization, participation from everyone, fair distribution of resources,
but what we see now with Alpha airdrops is:
🆖 A disguised "pay-to-participate system."
🆖 Retail investors without capital are excluded from the benefits.
🆖 Contrary to the original intention of "airdropping to real users."
What should retail investors do?
▶️ Adjust strategies, stop forcing Alpha, and if the cost and rewards are disproportionate, consider observing or giving up.
▶️ Look for other low-threshold, high-potential new platforms (exchanges).
▶️ Reverse operation, use the high threshold of Alpha to instead pick low-threshold but high-return projects and participate individually.
