When staking tiers was unveiled, it was teased that the fee discount was only the first of many perks to come. After only one week of being live, we are now seeing how this benefit can be stretched to builders and referrers with the Staking Referral Program.

The Staking Referral Program allows HYPE stakers to receive a % of their referred users' trading fees. The higher the staking tier, the higher the % received. Up to 50% of these fees can also be shared back to the referred user so that everyone wins, effectively allowing stakers to somewhat share their trading fee discount with other people.

This will be particularly interesting for those building on top of HL as they can extend part of their fee discount to all of their users. The second order effect here is that builders (e.g. those making mobile apps or a custom FE to host HIP-3 perps) are incentivized to buy and stake 500k HYPE for the Diamond staking tier so that they charge their users the lowest fees possible.
