On May 12, 2025, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) held a roundtable discussion to discuss the regulation of digital currencies, with a particular focus on "Tokenization - Moving Assets Onchain: Where TradFi and DeFi Meet".

During this session, SEC Chairman Gary Gensler delivered a keynote address emphasizing the importance of developing a sensible regulatory framework for cryptocurrency markets, stressing the need for clear rules for the issuance, custody, and trading of these assets, while continuing to deter bad actors😎😎.

Commissioners from the SEC, industry experts, and academics also participated in the session😳😳, to discuss the challenges and opportunities related to asset tokenization and how to effectively regulate this space🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️👍.
