Web3 met the classroom in full force at Binance’s Case Challenge Season 1.0 – a high-energy showcase of India’s brightest business school minds. Judged by Binance’s senior leadership, the competition fused sharp strategy, bold ideas, and real-world blockchain solutions from the country’s top business schools.
Bridging Classrooms and Crypto
Launched in late 2024, the Binance Case Challenge set out with a bold mission: to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world blockchain innovation. With students from India’s top management schools vying for the trophy, the challenge attracted 61 teams from elite institutions including the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and Faculty of Management Studies (FMS).
These teams took on real-world case studies, crafting creative, practical blockchain-based solutions across Web3’s diverse applications. The level of insight and originality impressed everyone — and after a rigorous evaluation, three standout teams rose to the top:
Champion: Team Futures – IIM Bangalore
Runner-Up: HODL – IIM Lucknow
2nd Runner-Up: Crypto Crusaders – FMS Delhi
Each of the top three teams brought fresh, forward-thinking strategies tailored to India’s dynamic digital landscape.
Team Futures stood out with a bold, four-layer playbook that combined regional education initiatives, AI-powered agent support, authentic storytelling, and gamified growth – a comprehensive strategy that reflected both creativity and cultural awareness.
Team HODL delivered a strategic roadmap focused on building trust and awareness of Binance in India. Their proposal centered on digital empowerment and financial freedom, particularly for users and small businesses. By aligning closely with local market needs, they positioned Binance as a trusted ally in India's digital journey.
Crypto Crusaders took a highly insight-driven approach, zeroing in on real consumer pain points and market trends. Their user-centric solutions aimed to simplify crypto adoption through innovative product ideas and marketing strategies designed to build trust and encourage mass adoption.
These top teams were selected by Binance’s very own Bader Al Kalooti (MENASAT Head of Growth & Ops) and Kushal Manupati (Director of Growth Marketing), and later pitched their ideas to none other than Binance CEO Richard Teng and CMO Rachel Conlan at the virtual Grand Finale.
