Trade War Eases👊
Trade truce between the U.S. and China: markets rise after tariff agreement 💰
In an unexpected move, the U.S. and China agreed on May 12 to a 90-day reduction of tariffs, seeking to alleviate trade tensions.
The U.S. will reduce its tariffs on Chinese imports to 30%, while China will lower its tariffs to 10%.
This announcement generated enthusiasm in the markets: the Dow Jones rose by more than 1,000 points, and shares of companies like Amazon and Tesla recorded significant increases.
The agreement also strengthened the dollar and raised bond yields.
Although this is a temporary measure, experts believe this gesture could be the beginning of a broader resolution to the trade conflict.
