The USA and China have declared a temporary de-escalation of trade wars!

🇺🇸 US Secretary of the Treasury:

❗️ China will temporarily reduce tariffs on American goods — from 125% to 10% for 90 days.

❗️ The USA will reduce tariffs on Chinese goods from 145% to 30% for 90 days.

✔️ Ad valorem duties introduced by decrees №14259 (April 8) and №14266 (April 9, 2025) are canceled.

✔️ A permanent mechanism for negotiations on economic and trade issues has been established.

✔️ The USA expressed a desire for China to expand access for American goods.

✔️ Procurement agreements may be possible to reduce the trade deficit.

✔️ The currency issue was not raised.

✔️ The Trump administration is strengthening control over the fiscal deficit.

✔️ The UK and Switzerland are leading in trade agreements with the USA, while the EU is lagging behind.

🇺🇸 US Trade Representative Jamison Greer:

✔️ The embargo is recognized as unacceptable for long-term trade.

✔️ The fentanyl issue is still unresolved.

✔️ The outcome of the negotiations is beneficial for both countries.

✔️ Dialogue on fentanyl continues, negotiations are constructive.

✔️ Restoring communications between the parties was the main difficulty.

✔️ The goal is to improve the global trading system.
