Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Malaysia’s largest electricity supplier, said electricity thefts linked to illegal #crypto mining increased by 300% from 2018 to 2024❗

Local media added that illegal mining has increased due to global crypto transactions.

TNB obtained the statistics through a joint operation involving the Energy Commission, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, police and local councils.
