Hoskisson, the founder of Cardano, believes that Ethereum will not withstand the next ten to fifteen years for the following reasons:

♦️Technical design issues: He sees that the current design of Ethereum suffers from fundamental weaknesses in its accounting model, virtual machine, and proof-of-stake system, which hinders its ability to scale efficiently in the long term.

♦️Impact of Layer 2 networks: He believes that Layer 2 solutions drain value from Ethereum rather than enhancing it, and that they create a state of internal competition that could lead to a "hostile divorce" between Layer 1 and Layer 2.

♦️Lack of an effective on-chain governance system: He criticizes the current governance model of Ethereum as ineffective and lacking cohesion, pointing out that the heavy reliance on individual leadership (referring to Vitalik Buterin) makes it less decentralized.

On the other hand, Hoskisson sees other projects like Cardano, Solana, and Sui as having better designs and governance structures, putting them in a stronger position to compete in the long run. He compared Ethereum to Blackberry, which was a leader and then fell behind better technologies.
