President Donald Trump stated during a meeting in Switzerland that talks between the US and China have made significant progress.

In a statement on Truth Social, Trump noted that the discussions were constructive and friendly, describing their outcome as a complete reset. He remarked on the agreement regarding a "complete reset" in relations and renewed efforts to open Chinese markets to American businesses.

"Many things were discussed, many were agreed upon," Trump wrote. "A complete reset negotiated in a friendly but constructive manner. We want to see, for the good of China and the US, China opening up to American business. GREAT PROGRESS HAS BEEN MADE!!!"

Markets interpreted this statement as a positive signal for easing global tensions.
