😤 "L1 is enough, why do we need L2?" Solana said that, what do you think?

Co-founder Yakovenko recently spoke quite strongly:

"If the L1 design is good enough then... no need for L2 at all!"

😮 Wait, what? Hearing that, how many rollup projects building Layer-2 must be silently crying in the club.

🤹 What did Yakovenko say?

L2 is complex, slow to process, and involving multisig and fraud-proof sounds like a brain-hacking movie.

If L1 is fast enough, cheap enough, and smooth enough then... why use an additional layer?

8 billion users each making 3 transactions per day → costs < 300,000 TPS only. L1 can handle it!

🤔 Sounds reasonable... but in reality?

Ethereum: "Wait, what do we create Rollup for?"

ZkSync: "We secure just as well as anyone else..."

Users: "Wherever there are low fees and quick confirmations, I’m there!"

Although Solana is indeed very fast and very cheap, saying L2 is useless is a bit... over the top. Everyone has their own philosophy.

Solana follows the "all-in-one chain" style, while Ethereum is "modular, use what is convenient."

🧠 A brief summary

Solana is going big: building a Layer-1 strong enough that it doesn't need any help.

But the Web3 world is not just about speed; there are UX, security, modularity, developer experience, etc.

And what about you? Are you on the "L1 all the way" team, or is "L2 the future"?
